Misfits is a British live-action superhero comedy-drama about a group of young offenders forced to work in a community service programme, where they become imbued with supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm. The first series started broadcasting on 12 November 2009 on E4, and was produced by Clerkenwell Films.
The programme can be classed as a teen drama, because its main characters share at least superficial commonality with those seen in Skins and several of John Hughes' films, notably The Breakfast Club. [Source]
